I’ve reached Day 4 of Mark Joyner’s Learn to Blog for Profit & Fun. Today’s lesson zeroed in on selecting a theme for your blog. If you’re new to the blogging world, it’s an excellent primer on why selecting a theme for your blog is important. Writing about cooking when your blog is about basket weaving is really counter-intuitive. So the first step to building a solid money-making blog is to pick a focused niched theme. Sounds simple, doesn’t it? While the blogging course doesn’t go into too much depth about how to select a niche theme it really does stress the point that your blog should be about a topic about which you have a personal interest and a fair amount of expertise. Essentially, your adventure into blogging should begin with a focused look at your personal passions and interests so as to better assure the quality of your blog.

A side note here: Even if you’re not interested in Mark Joyner’s Blogging course, you really should take a peek at his Simpleology 101. Many of the principles in his blogging course (e.g. focused niche for your blog) are built upon the founding principles of Simpleology 101. In fact, the ideas presented in Simpleology 101 apply to many aspects of your life. I highly recommend the course – best of all, it’s free. I’m going through it again as I do this blogging course and I’d love it if you could join me. Click here to join me.
